Electroplating or Plating is a general name used for processes that produce the metal coating on a solid substrate through the reduction of cations of that metal by means of a direct electric current.
The part to be coated acts as the cathode (positive electrode) of an electrolytic cell; the electrolyte is a solution of a salt of the metal to be coated; and the anode (negative electrode) is usually either a block of that metal, or of some inert conductive material. The current is provided by an external power supply.
Copper plating is used in many industries such as automotive, PCB industry and general metal finishing (GMF).
Mostly, copper anodes for electroplating are Electrolytic tough pith, oxygen-free and phosphorous copper which are all available at Oriental Copper. The anodes have been strictly controlled for their composition of which they are melted and casted under controlled condition for benefiting perfect dispersion of phosphorous in copper. Uniform and fine grain of copper anode result in minimal slag and easy dissolving. Oriental copper can supply in many sizes and shapes of copper anodes. Our copper anodes are made from high purity copper cathodes, and our advanced extrusion technology enables us to produce the finest copper anode in forms of ball, nuggets, and profiles with excellent and essential properties for plating process.
Why kind of OC’s copper anodes are available?
Our copper anodes are available in 3 types:
- Electrolytic Tough Pitch copper anodes (Cu-ETP)
- Phosphorus copper anodes (Cu-DHP)
- Oxygen-free copper anodes (Cu-OF)
Which product application that are mostly used copper anode?
Our copper anodes are mostly used for electroplating, antimicrobial coating, seawater pipework anti-fouling, and etc.
Which shape of OC’s copper anodes are available?
We can produce oval-shape, rectangle-shape, sphere or ball shape and nugget.
